In Memory of William Whitham
Born Feb 9th 1821, entered into rest Jan 1st 1901.
For more than 50 years he was connected with this church
And as scholar, teacher, leader and preacher.
"He wore the white flower of a blameless life."
He was for 35 years the honoured and deeply loved
Town Missionary of the
Brunswick Town and Temperance Mission, Burnley.
1855 to 1866 - 1877 to 1901.
Zealous in the cause of temperance
And in all good works
His humility was his exaltation
His tenderness was his strength
His friendliness to all made him the friend of all
"The memory of the just is blessed."
